Pike County Chamber of Commerce

Pike County has much to offer to families and businesses that are thinking about relocating in the area. Pike County Historical Society 

The PCHS was formed in 1960, and meets regularly to present local history programs for the public. In 1978, the Historic East School was rededicated after it was renovated to become the permanent home of the PCHS.

Pike County Color Drive

This event is always held the third weekend in October and falls on the 15th and 16th of October this year. Come join us for fun activities for both children and adults. With all sorts of different vendor and craft booths and of course a variety of local food there's sure to be something for everyone. Don't forget to make every stop, every community has something to offer.

Pittsfield Fall Festival

This event is held annually every Labor Day weekend on the courthouse lawn. They have many different activities for all ages. They offer rides for the kids, a variety of programs on the stage such as baby and queen contests, live local music, an abundance of local food tents and a parade on Sunday. Come join in the fun!

Western Illinois Fair

The Western Illinois fair, held at the fairgrounds in Griggsville, (about 8 miles North of Pittsfield) is sure to be an exciting time. This year it will be held June 26th-30th. Friday is a night of pageants and contests. Saturday morning is the mile long parade throughout Griggsville and local musical entertainment throughout the day. On Saturday evening is the always eventful school bus demolition derby. There are all kinds of arts, crafts, livestock exhibits, rides, activities and food stands open daily.

Civil War Reenactment 

This year the reenactment will be held June 1st-2nd at Pittsfield Lake. Watch as individuals from Union and Confederate camps participate in military drills. There's also a ladies tea, period fashion show and performances by Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln. Throughout the weekend there will be many quality period vendors, crafts and demonstrations, children's games, and exhibits of local history. Admission is always free.

Pike County Fair

Held at the Pleasant Hill fairgrounds about 15 miles south of Pittfield, the Pike County Fair always has much to offer. Come join in the festivities from July 17th-20th open 8 am until 10 pm. The fair features a tractor pull, carnival attractions, local vendors and food, and a talent show and queen contest. There is also a top rated society horse show and demolition derby.

Pike County Pig Days

For more than 25 years Pittsfield has celebrated the area's large pork industry with their annual Pig Days festival on the courthouse lawn. In honor of the pig there are activities such as longest pig tail contest and hog calling contest. There are also arts and crafts, kids games and live local entertainment. The many food stands offer a variety of tasty pork specialties. Activities will be held Friday from 6pm to 10pm and Saturday from 9am until 10pm.

Milton Corn Carnival 

Held in the village of Milton, 15 minutes east of Pittsfield. This carnival features live events, group games, a parade, and carnival rides. Many vendor booths are set up on the square to sell everything from home harvested honey to jewelry. Hungry? Milton Corn Carnival has plenty of food options to offer! The famous pork stand sells their secret recipe shredded pork sandwiches, fish fritters, french fries, and the pork pony shoe. This event is the weekend of September 22nd and 23rd. Music finishes up the event on Saturday night with a live band in the square. 

Barry Apple Festival

Come join us October 5th and 6th in Barry, about 17 miles north west of Pittsfield for the annual Apple Festival in Lafayette Park. This event is one of the largest festivals in the area and celebrates everything apple in the quaint, historic town. A parade winds through the city where local music bands and a crafts show entertain visitors. Apple pies, ice cream, caramel apples and strudels are all specialties. Old-time crafts, local bluegrass band performances and a car show complete the weekend.

Two Rivers Jeep Club

Two Rivers Jeep Club (TRJC) is located in Pittsfield. Current membership is 250 members strong (from 10 states) and is always full with a waiting list. TRJC is proudly the largest all-Jeep Club in the United States that maintains its own trails. They have many events throughout the year that draw Jeep enthusiasts from across the nation.
